Macbeth Act II Scene I- Summary November 13, 2012
Banquo and his son, Fleance, are currently at Macbeth's inner court at Glamis. The hall is lit with torches all around Macbeth's castle. Once it was midnight, Fleance notifies his father and Banquo says that he is tired and wants to stay up with his son because his sleep has inspired "cursed thoughts". So his father gives him the sword and dagger. After this, Macbeth then enters the area where Banquo and Fleance was at with his servant. Banquo tells Macbeth that he should be sleeping really well tonight since he got such great news today. Banquo then tells him about the dream he had the night before about witches but Macbeth totally denies any dreams even though he did have some about witches. They then left, Banquo and the servant leaving Macbeth alone. Macbeth then sees a dagger that points him towards Duncan's room. The dagger suddenly has blood on it and he believe it is because of his bloody thoughts. Then the bells rings which tells Macbeth that his lady is ready to leave.
